Warranty and insurance

Let’s talk about warranties and insurance, because they’re important.

You’ve heard the stories haven’t you? A tradesmen completes the work, the client loves the final result and everyone is happy. 6 months down the line, major structural cracks start to appear, the amazing job turns out to be a botched job and the owner of the building company seems to have their phone permanently switched off.

It’s not nice, but it happens. That’s why we’ve put a bulletproof warranty in place for you, to give you the peace of mind that we all want when having work done on our home.

Warranty – the details.

10 years: Roof construction, weatherproofing, structure and substructure are all covered for a decade. These are the ‘big’ bits – the components that cover the safety and durability of your home, which is why we’ve covered you for such a long period of time.

2 years: Electrical parts supplied by BNS and Heating/Plumbing parts supplied by BNS. If they’ve been provided by us, and for some reason there was an issue within that 2 year period, get in touch and we’ll organise a time to come around and rectify any problems for you. We don’t envisage you’ll have any issues – it’s not something we normally experience – but it’s good to know the option is there just in case.

1 year: workmanship for finishes, tiles, flooring and painting. These areas of the build can lessen in quality with the passage of time, there’s no getting around it. What we don’t want is for that to happen in an unrealistic time frame, so if on the off-chance you did notice issues in these areas, contact us and we’ll be around to touch these up for you.

You keep 2.5% of the total costs on retention for 1 year

When we said we wanted you to have confidence and peace of mind with BNS, we meant it. That’s why we’ve introduced a relatively new concept to give you an extra cushion.

As a customer of BNS Construction Ltd, you are able to withhold 2.5% of the total costs at the end of the project. This is paid to us 1 year after the date of completion, which is also when we come back to your property to check for hairline cracks that may appear in the outermost layer of the walls or ceilings (the paint or plaster layer). If we do find any, we can rectify them for you on the spot. This scheme has been added to your warranty for that extra layer of security, and it’s there to make sure you’re 100% comfortable throughout the process.
